"I own more than one website. Can I install Reciprocal Manager on all of them?"

-- Yes, you receive an unlimited domain license with your purchase. So you can install Reciprocal Manager on any website YOU own.

"I lost my login information. How can I retrieve it?"

-- Click here (PIPS Members Click here) then when the popup box appears asking you for your login info, click the cancel button. Then enter either your username or the email you used when signing up and your login information will be sent to the email address we have on file.

"Do I need to install Reciprocal Manager in its own directory or can I install it in my main directory?"

-- Yes, you can install RM in your main directory. However, if you currently have an index.html page, it will be overwritten if you install RM in your main directory because index.html is the default (you can rename your directory home page from index.html to something else after installation is complete). Also, you stand the chance of other files being overwritten if a category pages file name is the same as one of your other pages. Category pages have file names based on the category itself. So "Advertising" would be "Advertising.html", "advertising" would be "advertising.html", etc.

"Does Reciprocal Manager support page spans? Say I have 50 links and I want to show 10 per page, will RM automatically provide links to the other pages of the same category?"

-- If you have 50 links and only want to show 10 links per page, each page will have "Pages: 1 2 3 4 5" at the bottom so a user can go from one page to the next with no problems.

"Does a user need to add my link to their site before they can submit their link to my directory? Can thay submit their link without adding my link to their site?"

-- Since Reciprocal Manager is a reciprocal linking script, the user must have your link on their site before they are allowed to submit their link. However, if you manually add links from the admin, you can check a "Do Not Check Reciprocal URL" box which tells RM to not look for a link back to your site. But again, this option is only available if you are manually adding links within the admin area.

"Can you tell me where I can find the tag for Featured links partners?"

-- The featured link partners header, that's in the "Template Variables" section, second field down. The featured links will automatically show in your directory in the appropriate category when you submit a link and make that particular link featured (an option available to you when you add a link within your admin).

"How do I add the category name to the browser title bar for each category?"

-- Add the [[category]] variable in the title part of your template. For example, if you put "Providing valuable resources about [[category]]" in the title part and you have a category named "Advertising", the title will say "Providing valuable resources about Advertising".

Top of Page

"What is the comments section used for?"

-- The comments section only appears when you're approving/rejecting a link. The comments section allows you to tell the submitter why their link was rejected or anything else you want to tell them.

"How do I add the search box to my custom template?"

-- Add the following code to your template file where you want the search box to appear:
<form method="get" action="<?=$config['webpath']['value']?>index.php"><p><br><input type="text" name="search"> <input type="submit" value="Search">
</form>
